Adolphus Sowemimo is the owner of A. O. Sowemimo Corporation where he provides the full complement of obstetrician and gynecological services and general practice to the general public. He is a distinguished gynecologist who also serves as a part-time volunteer pastor at the Celestial Church of Christ. The stepping stone of his career was in the city of Ibadan, Nigeria, as a rotating intern at University College Hospital, Ibadan in 1983. During his internship, Adolphus did 12-week rotations in which he was trained in surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics, general medicine, and gynecology. He has studied in various institutions throughout the United Kingdom, and practiced in the UK, Canada, and the Middle East.
Owing to his skills and dedication in the field of obstetrics and gynecology, Adolphus Sowemimo has served various hospitals and handled his duties and responsibilities very meticulously. The hospitals where he worked includes Consultant Ob-Gyn positions at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, Sir James Paton Hospital in Newfoundland, and the Dauphin Regional Health Centre, Manitoba all in Canada. Adolphus Sowemimo was also in charge of the organization of the medical staff roster and undertook numerous research projects. He has practiced medicine with a focus on obstetrics and gynecology for over 30 years.
As a community activist, Adolphus Sowemimo is enthusiastically dedicated towards serving many local and national charities that includes Medicine Sans Frontier, Christian Blind Mission International, World Evangelism, Canada, Jewish Voice Ministries, Canada, and Children’s Hospital Foundation, Winnipeg, Canada. He is also a sports lover and play golf and squash in his free time. He is an avid golf player and squash player. Adolphus enjoys listening to classical music and reading novels. |
